HIMSS 2021: Las Vegas

One of the largest in person healthcare conferences, since the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, started this week

The HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition kicked off Monday, August 9 to Friday, August 13 in Las Vegas. Last year Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), cancelled the event days before it was scheduled.

This year HIMSS is offering a corresponding digital event for anyone cautious of onsite attendance. And for attendees in person, masks and proof of vaccination are required on the HIMSS21 campus and in all public spaces, as well as socially distanced chairs inside of sessions.  They created a “Safety Hub” page on their website to provide updates.

The HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition has been running for 60 years, and this year added for the first time a digital healthcare program.  The event focusses on Healthcare Infrastructure and Information Management Systems and showcases the latest digitalizing healthcare.

Agilis sent Lauren Jensen, PhD and Ray Talbott to the conference this year to stay up to date on topics like Cybersecurity, Software as a Medical Device, Remote Patient Monitoring, Artificial Intelligence, and the overall healthcare landscape since the pandemic.
