What does it mean to lean into MedTech in 2023

As the president of Agilis, I love my job. Agilis is a company of great people providing a needed service to clients in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries and ultimately improving the quality of life for people who need medical products. What is not to love about being part of that?

That being said, loving one's job, doesn’t mean that it isn’t challenging. I have held many different roles throughout my 25+ year career in this industry and each comes with different challenges and opportunities to learn and grow. I wanted to take this chance to share my current questions with you and seek your input if you are so inclined to share. What are the questions and assumptions that you challenge in your current role?

Here are questions that I am always asking myself:

  • As a company serving clients and end users of medical products, what do our services need to do and be to support clients in developing and launching safe and effective products?

  • What trends are we seeing in client needs and technology development? What are we doing about it?

  • Are our staff equipped and resourced to be, and feel, successful in their jobs?

  • Are we providing the right opportunities for our staff to grow?

  • Are we doing enough to build engagement with our fully remote staff?

  • Are we working and committed to our mission and are we operating to our values?

  • Are we doing all of this in an efficient manner to support continued growth as a business?

Our vision and mission:

Our values: how we accomplish our mission.

With all of this in mind, looking at all of the pieces that we have in motion, I am happy to say that we are continuing to advance on our journey and grow!

  • Agilis has put systems in place to support our continued growth, including a project management office function and an eQMS.

  • Agilis has and will hire even more amazing people to add to our team. While we are also continually developing and improving the ‘Agilis Academy’, our internal training and development program for human factors and instructional systems design and evaluation.

  • Agilis continues to grow our team’s expertise in cutting-edge technology and regulatory science spaces, such as Digital Health, Combination Products, Surgical Robotics, and more.

  • Agilis continues to serve clients with agility, expertise, quality, and integrity.

I know we’ve done this in a way to support and grow our business and services, but I’d also like to think that we’ve had fun along the way.
